WATCH: “Squad” Member Ilhan Omar Laughs At, Mocks “Stupid” Americans

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) recently mocked what she described as “stupid” Americans when voicing her disdain toward President Donald Trump’s second term in office.  According to the progressive member of the “Squad,” the supposed decline in intellectualism among, not just Congress, but the American people as a whole, is “embarrassing.”

Scoffing at the other side of the aisle, Omar said, “These people are just idiots. You know, I’m at the point where it’s become really hard to have an intellectual debate with any of these people, because the level of stupidity that they are displaying every single day is frankly embarrassing.”

The Minnesota Democrat claimed this problem is “not just in Congress,” but also extends to all Americans. She further suggested that this is what led to Trump’s landslide victory in November.  “And the fact that these people are allowed to say, just the most ridiculous things tells you that the dumbing of the United States has arrived, because how else do we get Trump presidency again,” she said.

The clip of Omar recently went viral on social media, sparking an uproar from conservatives.  “I’m one of those stupid, deplorable Americans that she is supposed to represent. As a representative, no matter where she may have (or may not have been) elected- she works in service to all Americans. She doesn’t understand our patriotism. Send her home – no return. America is clearly not her home,” one person commented on X.

Omar has been the subject of other controversy in recent political news, particularly after Rep. Brandon Gill suggested the congresswoman should be deported.  During an interview on CNN, Gill was asked, “You said that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, US citizen should be deported to her home country of Somalia. Omar became a naturalized citizen at 17. Why did you do that?”

Gill answered, “Listen, my colleague, Ilhan Omar, is an American citizen. She is a member of the House of Representatives.” Clarifying his comments on Omar, he said, “I didn’t call for her to be deported, but I did say that America would be better off were she deported.” The Texas Republican pivoted toward serious issues the country has faced.
